The ground rules for participating in REFACTR.TECH events and community.

1. Acceptance of Terms
REFACTR.TECH events, workshops, meetups, hackathons, social events, community programs, and related activities (collectively, the "Events") are hosted and operated by REFACTR.TECH.
By registering for, attending, participating in, sponsoring, speaking at, volunteering for, or otherwise engaging with REFACTR.TECH Events, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
Event schedules, speakers, venues, programming, and formats are subject to change.
2. Registration, Tickets & Participation
Certain REFACTR.TECH Events may require registration, ticket purchase, RSVP confirmation, or approval to participate.
Registration information must be accurate and complete. Registrations may not be shared between individuals unless otherwise explicitly permitted.
REFACTR.TECH reserves the right to refuse, revoke, or restrict participation in any Event at its sole discretion.
Participants must comply with all applicable laws, venue policies, and the REFACTR.TECH Code of Conduct.
3. Paid Events, Workshops & Refund Policy
Most REFACTR.TECH meetups and community events are free to attend. However, certain workshops, hackathons, premium experiences, training sessions, or special events may require paid registration.
Paid event registration and payment processing may be managed through ConnectEvents or third-party event platforms.
Refund and cancellation policies may vary by event and will be communicated on the registration page for the applicable Event.
Unless otherwise stated:
- Registrations are non-transferable
- Refund requests must be submitted in writing to hello@refactr.tech
- Processing fees charged by third-party platforms may be non-refundable
REFACTR.TECH reserves the right to cancel registrations associated with incomplete or failed payment transactions.
4. Event Changes & Cancellations
REFACTR.TECH reserves the right to modify:
- Event schedules
- Speakers
- Venues
- Session topics
- Formats
- Event capacity
- Programming
Events may be canceled, postponed, moved online, or otherwise modified due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including venue issues, speaker cancellations, public health concerns, technical failures, or force majeure events.
REFACTR.TECH will not be responsible for travel expenses, lodging expenses, or other costs incurred by attendees related to Event changes or cancellations.
5. Community Participation
REFACTR.TECH is committed to maintaining a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful community environment.
All participants, including attendees, speakers, sponsors, volunteers, organizers, vendors, and community members, are expected to abide by the REFACTR.TECH Code of Conduct.
REFACTR.TECH reserves the right to remove any participant from an Event or community platform for behavior deemed disruptive, unsafe, discriminatory, harassing, or otherwise inconsistent with community standards.
6. Photography, Video & Media Release
REFACTR.TECH Events may be photographed, livestreamed, audio recorded, or video recorded.
By attending or participating in Events, you consent to the use of your name, likeness, image, voice, statements, and participation in:
- Event recordings
- Livestreams
- Social media content
- Promotional materials
- Community recaps
- Educational content
- YouTube videos
- Future marketing and programming materials
You waive any right to compensation or approval related to such use.
If you have concerns regarding media capture at an Event, please notify an organizer during the Event.
7. Third-Party Platforms & Services
REFACTR.TECH may utilize third-party services and platforms to support Events and community operations, including but not limited to:
- Meetup
- Discord
- Google Forms
- YouTube
- Ticketing and registration systems
- Payment processors
- Email and newsletter platforms
Use of those services may be subject to their own terms, policies, and privacy practices. REFACTR.TECH is not responsible for the content, functionality, or privacy practices of third-party services.
8. Release of Liability
By attending or participating in REFACTR.TECH Events, you agree to release and hold harmless REFACTR.TECH, ConnectJS LLC, its affiliates, organizers, representatives, sponsors, volunteers, venues, and related parties from liability arising out of participation in the Events, except where prohibited by law.
Participants assume responsibility for their own personal property, travel, safety, and conduct during Events.
9. Privacy
REFACTR.TECH takes privacy seriously. Please review our Privacy Policy for information about how personal information is collected and used.
10. Changes to Terms
REFACTR.TECH reserves the right to update or modify these Terms & Conditions at any time. Updated versions will become effective when posted on the REFACTR.TECH website.
Continued participation in Events or use of REFACTR.TECH services after updates are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
11. Governing Law & Arbitration
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Georgia, USA.
Any disputes arising out of or relating to participation in REFACTR.TECH Events or use of REFACTR.TECH services shall be subject to arbitration and applicable Georgia law, including limitations on damages and waiver of jury trial rights to the extent permitted by law.
